Are you a Line Cook who loves the energy of a busy service and the smell of the ocean? At The Quarterdeck, we’re looking for 5 reliable cooks to join our team in beautiful Nova Scotia.

We are currently in the LMIA process, which means we are specifically looking for international cooks who are ready to bring their skills to Canada and build a future with a top-tier resort team.

What the job is actually like

Working at a coastal resort means the pace is fast and the standards are high. On a typical shift, you’ll be:

• The Engine of the Line: Preparing and cooking full meals and individual dishes that keep our guests coming back.
• Special Requests: Taking care of our guests with allergies or dietary needs—making sure their meal is just as delicious as everyone else’s.
• Keeping it Sharp: Maintaining a clean, organized station and helping the team keep the whole kitchen spotless.
• The Atmosphere: It’s a classic resort and restaurant setting. It gets busy, it gets loud, and we work under pressure, but we do it as a team.

Who we’re looking for

We aren’t looking for a master chef with decades of experience—we’re looking for someone with a solid foundation and a great attitude:

• The Experience: You’ve got at least 1 to 2 years under your belt in a professional kitchen.
• The Certs: You already have (or are ready to get) your Safe Food Handling and WHMIS certificates.
• The Right Vibe: You’re dependable, you show up on time, and you actually enjoy being part of a team. In a resort kitchen, reliability is everything.
• Physicality: You’re comfortable being on your feet for long stretches and keeping your focus when the dining room is full.
