Are you a skilled mechanic who takes real pride in a clean engine rebuild and a job well done? We are Finance a Vehicle in Southampton, and we’re looking for a heavy-hitter to join our workshop team.
We aren’t just looking for someone to change oil; we need a diagnostic expert who can take a non-runner or an MOT failure and get it back on the road to DVSA standards.
What the work looks like
Our workshop stays busy. You’ll be the lead on the “tough” jobs—major mechanical repairs, engine diagnostics, clutch and gearbox work, and timing chains. You’ll also handle the final prep to make sure every vehicle we sell is in top-tier mechanical shape. We value technical precision and a tidy workspace. If you’re the type of person who stays organized even when the shop is at its busiest, you’ll fit right in.
What we’re looking for
- Real Experience: You’ve been in the trade for at least 7 years. You know cars inside and out.
- Diagnostic Skills: Ideally, you have 5+ years of experience specifically with auto-electrics and diagnostics.
- Education: An NVQ Level 3 or a Bachelor’s in Automotive Tech is what we’re after.
- The Right Tools: You’re comfortable with 10-hour shifts (40 hours a week) and have a “get it done” attitude.
