If you’re a cook who loves a great view and a high-energy kitchen, we’d love to have you out here in Northern Michigan. We are specifically looking for H-2B in-country extension workers to join our culinary team for the upcoming season (April 15th – October 31st).

The Vibe at BHYC

We aren’t just a small boat club; we’ve just finished a multi-million-dollar renovation. We’ve got brand-new kitchens, a gorgeous Grille Room, and several busy dining outlets right on the marina. It’s fast, it’s professional, and the scenery is honestly hard to beat.

What We’re Looking For

We need someone who “gets” the kitchen life.

• Experience: You should have 1–2 years in the culinary world (with at least 3 months of solid line experience).
• The Essentials: You’ve got a high school diploma, you can lift 50 lbs when the truck comes in, and you’re cool with working weekends and holidays—that’s when the club really comes to life.
• Skills: You know your way around a prep list, you keep your station tight and clean, and you can handle a rush without losing your cool.

A Day in the Life

Your main goal is keeping the membership happy with great food. That means:

• Setting up your station so you’re ready for the rush (stocking plates, utensils, and prep).
• Cooking everything to order—meats, veggies, sauces—with speed and precision.
• Rotating stock so everything stays fresh (FIFO is a way of life here).
• Staying on top of cleaning. We all pitch in, which means keeping your gear sanitized and occasionally helping out with dishes when things get backed up.
• Closing it down right so the morning crew is set up for success.
