What the day-to-day looks like

This isn’t your typical high-stress restaurant line. You’ll be reporting to the Care and Services Manager and leading a team that feels like a community. Your mission? To make sure our residents eat well and live well.

• Creating the Menu: You’ll actually talk to our residents to find out what they love and build menus that make them smile.
• Leading the Team: You’ll be the go-to person for our catering staff, providing training and keeping the kitchen running smoothly.
• Collaboration: You’ll work closely with our healthcare team to make sure every meal meets the specific dietary and texture needs of our residents.
• Running the Show: From managing the budget and ordering supplies to ensuring we’re 100% compliant with NSW Food Safety and Aged Care Standards.

What we’re looking for

We need someone with a mix of technical skill and genuine empathy.

• Experience: At least 4 years as a Chef or an experienced Cook (ideally in aged care).
• Knowledge: You understand that cooking for seniors is different—you know about age-related health issues and how diet plays a huge role in well-being.
• Leadership: You’re someone people want to work for. You can prioritize a busy workload and keep your cool.
• Communication: You’re comfortable chatting with residents, families, and medical staff, and you have the computer skills to handle the admin side of the kitchen.
